Former Colorado Grotto member Peter Jones began cave photography in 1969 during a trip to a Wyoming cave. Four decades later, Peter is showing a selection of images of caves and caving in New Mexico's Guadalupe Mountains at an artist's lecture at Belfast, Maine's Waterfall Arts on October 26. Among the images he'll present are those he has taken during trips to the famous Lechuguilla Cave in Carlsbad Caverns National Park.
Though he left Colorado for Maine in 1973, Peter has continued to visit the caves of the Guadalupes. He has participated in several major photography projects, including work for National Geographic and television's NOVA. Peter's photographic work is also featured in the Cavern Arts Project Gallery at Carlsbad Caverns, along with other well-known photographers such as Ansel Adams.
